Mark Ireland, our Nat 2 North record points holder, will be hanging up his boots after an incredible career in the game and over 10 years in Tigers colours, making 200+ appearances for the club.

Mark shared:

“So the time has come to hang up the boots. But in doing so with lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories and a fair few lessons along the way on this incredible ride. Forever grateful for the journey and here’s to the next chapter. Rugby, thank you for everything!

To everyone involved at Sheffield Tigers I also just want to say a massive thank you. It certainly is a one of a club and have made these past 10+ years and 200+ games so very very special.

I wish the club the very best of luck for the future! A very bright one with a top quality coaching setup and a really talented group of lads backed up by a fantastic youth section. Not to mention the die hard supporters that rain, snow, wind, hail and occasional sun are always heard and appreciated on the sideline.

For now thanks again and looking forward to supporting many successful seasons to come ”
